NEED FOR INSECT SCREENS becomes obvious when one studies the heavy infestation of flies, bees, wasps and mosquitoes, in both Urban & Rural Societies.

Insects:

  • contaminate food & drink, and medicine;
  • infect open and healing wounds;
  • cause allergic reaction (from bee and wasp stings);
  • spread malaria, dengue, chickengunia, and a variety of other diseases; and
  • are a nuisance to society.

Establishments exposed to insects nuisance comprise:

  • homes, hotels, restaurants, small and large meeting rooms;
  • theatres, schools & colleges, commercial establishments,
  • shops, cinemas, hospitals,
  • and airports

Air conditioning is no guarantee for immunity from insects.

Premium addresses have open spaces, with gardens, flower beds, playgrounds, shopping centres, schools, cinemas, shops and other commercial establishments. Despite a conscious effort to keep such places clean and dry, there are inevitable shortfalls between promise and performance leading to a flourishing population of a large variety of insects. These insects are a nuisance even on the higher floors of tall buildings.

Chemical or herbal medicines in common use to control insects have harmful side effects when the fumes are inhaled, and sometimes they also affect the eyes, nose and throat, and trigger allergies.

Currently available screens depend on VeIcro attachment systems that are both ugly and have a short life, leaving the user in despair.

Another option is rigid sliding screens that are fitted in the same way as sliding windows with tracks. This option has the disadvantage of reducing the view area when not in use and they require a wider track to accommodate BOTH the sliding window and the sliding screen frame. In addition, the gap between the frame members is often large enough to allow flying insects to enter the room. Most sliding screens currently available do not address this problem.

A superior solution is to install spring loaded retractable HERMES INSECT SCREENS at all doorways and windows, which are designed for high wind conditions, and for long trouble free life, free form distortion or deflection even in high wind condition.

The screens are built for long life using powder coated slim profile aluminium frame with spring loaded retracting roller glass fibre net screens, running in rails fitted with grooves for the screen to slide back and forth. The grooves are fitted with wool and nylon brushes that prevent entry to flying insects even when crawling. The construction and fitting of the net is designed for easy cleaned by brushing or vacuuming. HERMES INSECT SCREENS use exclusively imported components of the highest standard.

Options include vertical or horizontal scrolling with fitting on windows, doors, french windows and balconies and so on.

Depending on the individual case, these screens are fitted either on the window or door frame, or within the window or door jamb.

HERMES INSECT SCREENS are delivered in a standard white colour frame and gray colour netting. Also available in any RAL colour subject to a minimum quantity per colour. Whatever the colour, the HERMES INSECT SCREENS become an unobtrusive element ofthe room. The loss of external view is NIL when not in use, and minimal when the screen is deployed.
